Check out some photos from our Red Cliff trip Saturday, July 12 to Wednesday, July 16! Our purpose was to help decide what books from these boxes, originally packed in 2009 from the old library, should be put in the interim library space.  Not pictured: Our meetings with Dee and Carmen; our discussion about criteria for selection and deselection; our meeting with Jim Trojanowski from the Northern Waters Library System; and our ice cream trips (about twice each day)! Thanks, Louise, for the photos!

Brenna, Jake, and Louise arrive on Saturday. Here, Brenna and Jake are about to tackle the first of the boxes on Sunday morning.

Jake evaluates a book. Is it a definite keeper for the interim library? Or a store and "save for later," when there's a larger library? Or should it be weeded, which means it goes in a pile to be sold, donated, or thrown away?

We took a hike through Frog Bay Tribal National Park. Beautiful spot -- but we definitely forgot the bug spray (and needed it!) The trail ends at Lake Superior. Too cold to swim, but we dipped our feet in. Omar went up to his knees. Brave!

On the last night, we had a campfire just long enough to have a couple smores. What a great way to celebrate!

Dee and Carmen gifted us these wonderful t-shirts. Here, Louise, Brenna, Omar, and Robin stand in front of shelves. In the background, you can see the logo design for the project.

We stopped at Copper Falls on the way home. Here's Louise on the trail. We also stopped at Little Finland and toured an old sauna!

Our next trip, which will take place in August or September, will coincide with the delivery of computers and shelving. We’ll then set up the space for opening.  We’ll keep you all updated!

Please let us know if you have any questions about our trip.
