Thank you for registering for Convening Great Lakes Culture Keepers, a regional institute for tribal librarians, archivists, and museum curators! From April 26-29, we will convene at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post for classes, tours, and other events.
Institute Online Form
To make sure we know everyone’s preferences and priorities for workshops, classes, meals, and charter bus pickup locations, please complete the online form. This is also where you submit your application for the substitute staffing stipend.
It can be found here: https://uwmadison.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0HClyx0IVR7AzMp
Workshops and Classes
Instead of brief conference presentations, the institute’s workshops and daylong classes allow time for everyone to share their knowledge, learn from experts, and practice what they’ve learned through in-class activities. The goal is to interact and create together.
To guarantee that all classes have similar sizes, we’re asking everyone to sign up for their classes via the institute online form by April 12th. Class enrollment will be based on order of registration. But we’ll do our best to make sure everyone gets a top priority choice. As instructors may contact you to help focus their classes, please make sure you register ASAP.
Workshop and class descriptions are available here.
Lodging
We’re staying at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs. If you’re registered, we will make the arrangements for you and send a room confirmation number.

A Gift to Share
We’re asking all attendees to bring a small gift to share. It should be anything that represents your community–or your role in the community. You can be imaginative. It could be anything from wild rice to a new bibliography you created. The items will be used throughout the conference in classes, put on display, and then given away when the institute ends.
